The Vinyl Alliance hosted a group of young creatives on a tour of the historic plant.

In April earlier this year, we visited The Vinyl Factory pressing plant in London, with a group of up and coming artists and makers, along with writer, DJ, producer and co-founder of record label Butterz, Elijah. Curious to learn more about both the technical and creative processes inherent to vinyl manufacturing, the group was able to ask questions and delve deeper into the art of physical music production.

Guests included London-based creatives TIGRIS, David Chen, Tash LC, Adam 1Up, Charisse C, Damsel Elysium, Kirrolus, Yaw Evans and Eugene Angelo. Facilitated by Elijah, as well as The Vinyl Factory’s Adam Teskey and Audio-Technica’s Edward Forth, the group experienced first-hand the craftsmanship involved in vinyl production, and discussed the medium’s place in the contemporary music scene and its creative potential for young artists.
